Hospitality and entertainment design firm HBG Design is helming the design of Michigan's new Gun Lake Casino Resort Aquadome – a glass-roofed, climate-controlled, indoor landscaped pool and event centre atrium environment. The six-storey, 32,000sq ft Aquadome is part of a US$300m (£259.1m, €298.4m) site-wide overhaul of the casino. An 18th-century restaurant and cafe in Venice’s historic St Mark’s Square has reopened following a major restoration overseen by Philippe Starck. The Michelin-starred Quadri, owned by restaurateurs the Alajmo family since 2010, has been reinterpreted by the French designer as “a Venetian wonderland of mystery, poetry and magic.” He has worked with local artisans – including glassblowers, carpenters, fabric-makers and art restorers – to recover the building’s original architectural details,
PLG unveils £9.5m Billing Aquadrome plans

Pure Leisure Group (PLG) has unveiled its proposals for a new £9.5m leisure complex at the 240-acre (97.1-hectare) Billing Aquadrome holiday park in Northamptonshire. The park has already undergone widescale upgrade works since it was acquired by PLG two years ago, and it is now hoped that the first phase of the new facility will be ready to open in September 2009 subject to planning consent.
