China's government plans US$19.5bn investment into Beihai tourism

In a bid to boost tourism in the region, China's government has announced plans to invest CN¥134bn (US$19.5bn, €16.7bn, £14.8bn) across 17 major entertainment and culture projects on the South China coast. Based around the southern Chinese coastal city of Beihai, three of the projects are worth more than CN¥10bn (US$1.5bn, €1.3bn, £1.15bn), with a further seven costing between CN¥2bn (US$300m, €256.5m, £228.4m) and CN¥10bn. MKV Design transform Sheraton's historic Park Lane hotel

New York, US-based Pryor Cashman LLP has confirmed its client, Castillo Grand, has been awarded US$44m (£28.1m, EUR32.9m) in its legal case against Sheraton Operating Corp. The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh is set to undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment as part of its 25th birthday celebrations. All of the hotels bedrooms and suites will be redesigned and more rooms will be created, increasing the hotel's bedroom count to 268. A new, opulent Grand Suite will also be added as part of a new, exclusive Club floor on the top floor of the hotel.
