London-based Aros Architects have produced early plans to turn World War II sea forts seven miles off the British coast into a luxury hotel and spa. The National Museum of Scotland (NMS) and Hepworth Wakefield have been included among 52 schemes to be recognised at this year's Civic Trust Awards (CTA) in Edinburgh. A total of 27 projects across the UK and overseas were confirmed as award winners, with a further 18 receiving commendations and seven given a community recognition accolade. Dacorum Sports Trust to open extreme sports centre

Dacorum Sports Trust is on schedule to open a new extreme sports centre at the Sportspace leisure centre in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire next year. The centre, which has secured £5m worth of government funding, will include a 60m x 15m indoor climbing area - supplied by UK-based Entre-Prises - and one of the largest indoor, combined timber and concrete skate parks in the UK.
