InterContinental Hotels Group’s long-awaited adventurous hotel, which will sit in a 328ft (100m)-deep quarry in the Sheshan Mountain Range in Shanghai, China, is finally due to open this year. Las Alcobas, a Luxury Collection Hotel by Starwood in California's Napa Valley, is expected to open in October 2015 once a multimillion renovation is complete. Rocco Forte Hotels has confirmed that its new flagship Middle East property in Abu Dhabi - the first to bear the name of the group's chair and CEO - is to open by the fourth quarter of 2011.
