Palazzo di Varignana launches family wellbeing and longevity retreat in Emilia Romagna

Palazzo di Varignana, in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, has created a new tailored health programme designed specifically for families. Families with young children can visit the 650-hectare estate, located near Bologna, to experience a retreat designed by the resort’s scientific director, Dr Annamaria Acquaviva. A dietitian and expert in mindfulness and longevity science, Acquaviva has created the programme to help children and teenagers build healthy and lasting habits.

Miraval The Red Sea has opened on Shura Island in Saudi Arabia as part of The Red Sea Project. The development is the first Miraval-branded property outside the US. This site is the fourth Miraval resort in the world – following US-based properties in Arizona, Texas and Massachusetts. Robert De Niro’s lifestyle brand Nobu Hospitality has opened its latest location in Los Cabos, Mexico. The 200-bedroom Nobu Hotel Los Cabos features a 13,691sq ft Esencia Spa. WATG was the project architect for the spa, including the landscape architecture, while Studio PCH is responsible for the interior design. Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland has reopened following an extensive multi-million refurbishment. The 25,000sq ft (2,300sq m) spa is the only Kohler Waters Spa outside the US, and focuses on hydrotherapy and organic treatments, with signature wet treatment rooms and Vichy showers. The 77-villa St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is set to open in September, complete with a 2,000sq m (21,528sq ft) Iridium Spa that includes one of the biggest salt water hydrotherapy pools in the Maldives. Designed by Singapore-based WOW Architects, the St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort was short-listed for the World Architecture Festival Awards last year.
