Devon wellness spa inspired by nature opens at historic manor house hotel

England’s Boringdon Hall in the Devon countryside is set to open its 1,800sq m (19,375sq ft) wellness spa on Monday, 1 August. Gaia Spa – named for and inspired by Mother Nature – includes 12 treatment rooms, an infinity pool, hydrotherapy pool, Finnish sauna, crystal salt steam room, aromatherapy steam room, herbal sauna, shower experiences, relaxation room, gym, beauty salon with champagne service, and outdoor area for relaxation and meditation.

Eden Project secures £150m for second UK development in Devon

Eco-champion Sir Tim Smit’s proposal for his ‘Ark’ project, planned to be a centrepiece for Devon as a second Eden Project in the UK, has secured the £150m (US$235m, €212m) needed to fund development. Boringdon Hall Hotel director James Nettleton has announced plans for a new multi-million pound development to include a spa and a 60-bedroom expansion of the Devon property. Further details of the project are expected to be announced in the New Year, with Plymouth-based ADG chosen as architects and Ward Williams Associates named as project manager.
