Chelsea's Stamford Bridge plans could be stalled by fears for local bats

Chelsea Football Club’s plans to build one of the largest stadiums in England have hit a stumbling block – the local population of endangered bats. The club submitted its plans for the £500m (US$660m, €584m) project to London’s Hammersmith and Fulham council last year, but have been asked to provide more evidence of how they will protect the nearby grade I-listed Brompton cemetery and its population of the nocturnal mammals.

Construction work on a multi-million pound mixed-use redevelopment in Bromley, London, could begin this autumn after the proposals were given the green light by local councillors. Legal deal paves way for Bromley revamp

Work on a £5m revamp of Pavilion Leisure Centre, London, is to get underway next month, after a legal agreement was signed by the local authority and the venue's operator. Bromley Council and leisure trust Bromley Mytime have confirmed a deal that will allow a series of improvements to take place at the 20-year-old facility. A new 'cultural and recreational' scheme is being planned for the heart of Bromley, following an agreement between the Cathedral Group and the local authority.
