An elevated public platform within Herzog and de Meuron’s Hamburg Elbphilharmonie has been officially opened, along with building’s restaurants, cafés, bars and hotel. Scottish cities to share GBP7.69m heritage funding

Historic Scotland has confirmed that six Scottish cities are to receive a share of GBP7.69m over the next three years as part of efforts to safeguard and enhance areas of conservation. Glasgow (GBP2.55m) and Edinburgh (GBP2.145m) have secured the largest slice of funding, with Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and Stirling each receiving GBP750,000 from the agency. Construction work has started on a £7.5m refurbishment and extension of a 1940s property in Greenwich, London, which will house a new 145-bedroom hotel when complete. Barnsley Premier Leisure (BPL) has provided a first look at how the new themed Calypso Cove will look at the South Yorkshire town's Metrodome Waterpark.
