New York hotel joins Autograph Collection
Marriott International's Autograph Collection has announced that The Carlton Hotel, a 317-bedroom hotel in New York City, US, has become the latest addition to its portfolio.
The property has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation overseen by architect David Rockwell of The Rockwell Group and is managed by Gemstone Hotels and Resorts.
Facilities include an 800sq ft (74sq m) fitness centre offering cardiovascular and resistance machines; a lobby bar; and the signature, full-service Murray Hill restaurant, Millesime.
First unveiled in 1904 as the Hotel Seville, the property was initially designed by Harry Allen Jacobs in Beaux-Arts-style architecture and featured Art Nouveau-inspired interiors.
Hotel general manager Victor Freeman said: "With our rich New York history and reputation for exceptional service and commitment to our guests, we are confident this will be a successful partnership."
Kip Vreeland, vice president for the Autograph Collection, added: "The Carlton Hotel is an ideal addition to our portfolio, as it is effortlessly aligned with the Autograph Collection's mission to provide original and unparalleled travel experiences."
The Carlton Hotel is the 27th property to join the expanding Autograph Collection, with the Hotel and Spa do Vinho retreat in Brazil among recent additions to the portfolio.
