Yabu Pushelberg and ISC release stunning images of new restaurant in Times Square
Yabu Pushelberg and Ian Schrager Company Design Studio (ISC) have unveiled images of their designs for 701 West, a luxury restaurant located at the recently opened Times Square Edition in Manhattan.
Perched on the hotel's 11th floor, the 100-cover flagship has three main sections – a salon-like cocktail bar headed by mixologist Salvatore Tafur, a dining lounge with a prix fixe menu conceived by chef John Fraser, and an outdoor "Blade Runner" terrace.
Panelled in black walnut oak – the interior areas feature electric blue and emerald green banquettes with matching drapery.
Other noteworthy furnishings include Noir Saint Laurent marble tables, Dessin Fournir waxed leather barrel chairs, and wall sconces from Paris-based designer Gilles & Boissier.
Offering panoramic views of the Manhattan cityscape, the Blade Runner terrace, which takes its name from the 1980s science-fiction blockbuster, is fitted with a number of evergreen trees and ivy plants.
According to ISC, the space draws on the Edition's eclectic aesthetics and is meant to evoke a "clash of worlds and surreal sense of space and time".
Speaking on the project in its entirety, Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International, commented: "This is an entirely new lens on Times Square.
"From this aerie above the hubbub below, you can engage, observe, or withdraw."
