Aerotel opens short-stay, nap-focused hotel inside Heathrow T3

Our design has to be seamless, efficient, social, but most importantly we need to ensure you can sleep soundly.
– Mei Mei Song

Airport hotel operator Aerotel has opened the first hotel inside London Heathrow Terminal 3. The new property has been designed for the convenience and comfort of late-night and early morning travellers.

Aerotel London Heathrow is located steps away from check-in, a five-minute walk to the nearest bus station, six-minutes from the Heathrow Express and close to Terminals 2, 4 and 5. Guests are also able to book stays as short as six hours, to help avoid having to travel to the airport late at night or very early in the morning.

The hotel was designed by Aerotel's in-house team in partnership with KCA to maximise rest. Rooms are soundproofed, have warm, soothing lighting and mattresses and pillows that have been selected to encourage quality sleep.

Single, double and family rooms are available, with power showers and other amenities fitted. The hotel also has dining and social spaces designed to replicate a living room at home.

"Our international guests are asking for a comfortable space to sleep when they land early or late at night, while London residents taking morning and late-night flights are looking for a spot to chill or power nap before boarding," said Song Hoi-see, founder and CEO of Aerotel's parent company Plaza Premium Group. "Aerotel London Heathrow is our answer to travellers' pain points."

Speaking to CLAD, Mei Mei Song, brand director of Plaza Premium, added: "Aerotel is designed by travellers for travellers. I've personally gone in and out of this terminal for years, as most flights flying to Hong Kong depart from here, and through our experience of flying we observed conveniences we wanted to materialise to make our trip more comfortable and convenient. Our design has to be seamless, efficient, social, but most importantly we need to ensure you can sleep soundly."

Construction of the hotel, in a converted office space, began in 2017. It opened this week.
