W Nashville to play on city’s musical heritage
W Hotels Worldwide has announced the 2020 opening of W Nashville in Tennessee, US, which will incorporate the city’s rich musical heritage into its design and ethos.
Architecture and design firm Rockwell Group has been commissioned to carry out the project, with a brief to incorporate the “rich culture and musical legacy of Nashville into every aspect of the property.”
As well as a live venue, the hotel lobby will “reinterpret elements of Nashville's renowned civic amphitheatres and legendary recording studios”. The gathering space will boast a DJ booth and showcase local artwork.
The new hotel will also house a rooftop bar, where “sweeping views of the Nashville skyline will be complemented by wood panelling, a central fireplace, and sliding garage doors along the perimeter”.
Owned by Twelfth Avenue Realty Holdings, the hotel will be the latest North American development in the brand's range, including the soon-to-open W Aspen and W Philadelphia.
W Nashville will feature 346 guestrooms, including 50 suites and two Extreme Wow Suites (W's presidential suite brand). One of these will be a 1,668sq ft (155sq m) penthouse.
David Carlins, president of partnering Magellan Development Group said: "The amenities and services planned for W Nashville will most certainly accomplish this while setting a new standard of excellence in Nashville's hospitality market."
