Hotel group to open Leeds site in September
Village Hotels is to open its Village South Leeds hotel in Tingley, Yorkshire, this September as part of its £60m investment strategy.
The £20m property is currently under construction and is the second of the company's UK properties to be developed using a new, modern design blueprint. Speaking about the development's progress, Village CEO Gary Davis said: "Work is now well under way to ensure this magnificent new hotel becomes a major benefit to people in Leeds." In addition to the 115 contemporary bedrooms, complete with wall-mounted TVs, i-Pod docking stations and free Wi-Fi throughout, will be a range of other facilities. The new complex will also boast a 'verve Grill and Oven' restaurant, 'the victory Pub and Kitchen' and the HUB hi-tech conference facility offering 10 fully air-conditioned meeting rooms, as well as a state of the art health and fitness club which will be open to both residents and non-residents. The new Village health and fitness club will provide Technogym cardio and resistance equipment, a whirlpool spa and steam room, plus a full, 25-metre swimming pool. Chris Hartley, general manager of the new hotel, said: "The Village brand brings an exciting dimension to the hotel sector and it will undoubtedly attract the growing business and leisure markets." Earlier this year, the company - owned by De Vere Hotel Group - started the three-year investment programme with the development of their flagship hotel at Ashton Moss, Ashton-under-Lyme.
