Timbaland, music producer to the stars, joins forces with Myndstream to co-create music that improves health and wellbeing
Timbaland, Platinum Grammy Award-winning producer, who's worked with artists such as Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Madonna, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Drake and Björk, has announced a partnership with health and wellbeing music provider, Myndstream.
The new partners will collaborate to produce an album of wellness music to help improve the health and wellbeing of listeners, whether that be to destress, relax, unwind or focus.
They will be available for use by operators across the wellness, health and fitness and spa markets.
The tie-up was announced at the recent 2023 Global Wellness Summit in Miami, where Myndstream founder Freddie Moross interviewed Timbaland live on stage.
The 51-year-old musician shared his journey about overcoming an addiction to oxycontin, a powerful opioid painkiller and how it led him to create wellness music.
Now, Timbaland wants to bring his unique sound to this new category of music and help others on their wellness journey. As he moves into the wellness music space, he says he's fascinated to explore how different frequencies affect mood and how tone can move through the body creating a physical and mental shift in the listener.
"Music is a very powerful tool," Timbaland said. "It brought me out of crisis. It was this that triggered my fascination with frequency and tone, understanding the role they play in being able to change your perspective and attitude, without you even realising it.
“I want to create music that can help people heal and grow. I want my music to be in every spa around the world.”
Myndstream and Timbaland's first wellness music project is expected to be released in 2024. It will be available on all major streaming platforms, as well as through Myndstream’s commercial hospitality partnerships in 2024.
