Gleneagles schedules educational retreats hosted by leading naturopath and Harley Street nutritionist
– Rosemary Ferguson
Following the official relaunch of the Gleneagles Spa in September, the team behind the Scottish country estate and hotel has announced an exclusive partnership with renowned naturopath, functional medicine specialist and Harley Street nutritionist, Rosemary Ferguson.
Marking the next phase of the hotel’s wellness evolution, a series of three-day retreats are set to take place in November 2021, January 2022 and March 2022.
Over the course of the three days, Ferguson will focus on three key areas: liver, gut health and re-energising using the power of nutrition and the benefits of the great outdoors.
Ferguson’s goal is to help participants break the mystery of good eating and help them use nutrition as a tool to further progress on their journey to optimal health.
“It’s the restorative nature of the Perthshire surrounds that I’m particularly excited about – the dramatic landscape, endless space, the sights and sounds of nature and the endless outdoor pursuits Gleneagles has to offer,” she said.
“Combined with my curated menus and Gleneagles’ new wellness offering in the spa, our retreat will provide all the tools guests need to get back on track and ready for a new year.”
The itinerary
The experience will begin at home with a personalised welcome pack from Gleneagles and Ferguson, featuring the country estate’s new in-house range of locally-sourced botanical oils, recipes, a three-day food plan and some travel day 'how tos'.
On the day of arrival, guests will be welcomed with a late afternoon session of Yin Yoga, followed by a private dinner, curated and hosted by Ferguson, in Gleneagles’ Winter Garden.
The first full day will begin with outdoor yoga in the grounds followed by a nutritious breakfast with Ferguson. Next, guests will head to a local, nearby estate and immerse themselves in the local landscape with a gentle guided walk to reach the Stone Cairn at Summit and experience panoramic views of the leafy Scottish countryside.
A light lunch back at Gleneagles followed by a 50-minute personalised Gleneagles massage and a personal consultation with Ferguson will round off the afternoon. The evening schedule will involve a dinner in the Winter Garden followed by a Sound Bath to soothe guests before sleeping.
Day two will start with Yin Yoga followed by another breakfast in the Winter Garden with Ferguson. Shortly after, guests will make their way to another wilderness adventure and enjoy a gentle walk to the hidden glen waterfall; a peaceful place for yoga and an invigorating spot for a wild swim.
Lunch will once again be followed by either another 50-minute personalised massage or consultation with Rosemary.
On the third and final day, guests will complete the retreat with an invigorating morning power hike across the grounds ahead of breakfast in the Winter Garden. Afterwards, they will be encouraged to make the most of Gleneagles’ Health Club facilities before their departure.
The Rosemary Ferguson Retreat at Gleneagles has a starting cost of £1,995 (€2,344, US$2,707) + VAT per person. A second 50-minute personalised massage can also be booked at an additional cost.
