Tracy Lee unveils Spa Alkemia at Zadún for Ritz Carlton Los Cabos

Spa consultancy TLee Spas, in collaboration with EDG Design, have unveiled a new 30,000sq ft (2,800sq m) spa at the Ritz-Carlton Reserve's Zadún property in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Spa Alkemia is inspired by Mexican traditions and culture with a natural aesthetic, with 'Alkemia' – meaning alchemy in Spanish referencing a focus on positive transformation and a heightened state of wellbeing through therapeutic modalities.
“Spa Alkemia is the ultimate playground of immersive wellness experiences,” said Tracy Lee, CEO of TLee Spas.
Three years in development, the spa comprises multiple free-standing pavilions and palapas, along with nine treatment rooms enveloped by tropical foliage and desert succulents.
Facilities include a guided thermal experience – the Templo Caliente, a recreation of a Mexican Temazcal – or sweat lodge – and the Savasana Sound Room – an immersive sound vault with vibrating floors and surround-sound to usher the brain into a meditative state.
Alkemia al Fresco is a private garden used for outdoor body scrubs, while Casa Privada is a self-contained retreat, designed for groups, with a treatment studio, hot soaking pool and dip pool, relaxation area, dining, and beauty and grooming.
TLee Spas worked with All 4 Spas on the jetted vitality pool, deluge showers, a steam room, sauna, and cool plunge pool. Luxury eco-manufactured spa linens have been supplied by The Madison Collection, including towels, robes and spa wraps.
Spa Alkemia has both private relaxation rooms and communal spaces, including Zócalo – a homage to traditional Mexican town squares with indoor and outdoor lounges.
Guests can also visit the Aqua Grande mineral hydrotherapy pool, a mindful movement studio, 24-hour fitness centre and salon.
