Preidlhof launches transformational wellness programmes with trauma healing bodywork
– Patrizia Bortolin
Luxury destination spa Preidlhof in South Tyrol, Italy, is offering a Transformational Wellness Programme which claims to help people become ‘open to change’ and to ‘expand and flourish’.
The programme features daily Kneipp experiences, both Kalari and Colour Healing massages and Anmo Tuina sessions – a massage based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The retreat runs for four, five, six or 10 nights with a starting price of €1,569 (£1325, US$1,714) per person and includes accommodation, transfer and meals.
Excluding the four-day retreat, all programme durations include trauma touch therapy during a daily 80-minute Glowing Flow session, developed by holistic healer Stefano Battaglia, claimed to release emotional blocks, anxiety and tension using refined bodywork techniques designed to reconnect and harmonise the mind and body.
The programme joins three other recent launches– called Integrated Healing, Modern Relaxation and the Three Pillars of Health – which are multi-therapeutic in approach and integrate complementary, medical and preventative health techniques.
All programmes are complemented with a curated ‘special class’ schedule including activities such as laughter yoga, forest bathing, mindful eating, barefoot meditation and dao yin yoga.
Guests can also enjoy access to Preidlhof’s sauna tower and a range of outdoor sports activities and fitness classes.
The new programmes are a product of Preidlhof’s newly reformulated spa concept, spearheaded by recently appointed spa director Patrizia Bortolin.
She calls the new philosophy an “integrative contemporary wellness” concept.
The new approach takes Preidlhof’s ‘Dolce Vita’ mindset to wellbeing and further defines it by embracing hedonic and eudaimonic concepts to ‘complete the full definition of wellbeing’.
“I designed this concept based on the balance between both the hedonic and eudaimonic approaches to wellbeing”, said Bortolin. “I find that happiness in wellness is often delivered on a very superficial level and not truly embodied by the people advocating it.
“At the same time, many guests and colleagues do need to be more playful and joyful…finding that balance is the goal!”
Bortolin explained: “We’ve developed a truly integrated and multi-generational approach to wellbeing, healing, and emotional transformation. I wanted to achieve that essence of flow, to alchemically balance and fully integrate the hotel and the spa.”
