Montage announces plans to build Europe-inspired resort and social hub in Utah
Global hotel management company Montage International has unveiled renderings of a luxury alpine retreat slated to rise in Park City, Utah – one of the world’s most popular ski-towns.
Designed by global practice SB Architects, Pendry Residences, Park City will comprise three buildings and offer 150 ski-in, ski-out guestrooms, suites, and residential units.
The future property, which will be operated by Pendry Hotels – one of Montage’s hospitality brands – will also feature a fitness centre, recreation room, pool, and a spa with eight treatments rooms. Other leisure amenities will include a rooftop bar as well as several gourmet restaurants, public plazas, and retail shops.
Speaking on the project’s influences, Keith Houchin, an associate at SB Architects said: "In an explicit departure from the more traditional 'mountain lodge', we took inspiration from more contemporary ski destinations of Europe to reinterpret Park City’s past within a contemporary architectural vernacular."
Houchin added that the resort’s designs were specifically inspired both by the "angular forms" of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains as well by Park City's mining history.
Construction on the complex, which is scheduled to begin in summer 2019, is expected to be completed for winter 2021.
The Pendry Residences, Park City will be Montage's second venue to open in the area after Montage Residences Deer Valley. The resort, which launched in 2010, is situated minutes from downtown Park City.
