Jeanne Gang to receive Louis Kahn Memorial Award
CLAD cover star Jeanne Gang has been announced as the 2017 recipient of the prestigious Louis Kahn Memorial Award.
Gang will be presented with the prize by the Philadelphia Center for Architecture and Design on 23 May at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, and she will speak about her architectural work and research.
Gang’s architecture practice, Studio Gang, are working on a number of high-profile projects including the Aqua Tower in Chicago and the expansion to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
Gang speaks extensively about her past and future work and her socially minded architectural philosophy in a new interview with CLAD, which appears in the latest issue of CLADmag.
The Louis Kahn Memorial Award, which honours and remembers the Philadelphia-based architect, was established by the Center for Architecture and Design in 1983 to recognise “an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of architecture.”
Rafael Viñoly, Norman Foster, Daniel Libeskind, César Pelli and Bjarke Ingels are among the previous winners.
