Underwater light refraction inspires Blainey North’s spa design at Crown Towers Perth
Crown Hotels is adding a Crown Towers property in Perth to its portfolio, featuring a spa designed by Australian interior designer Blainey North.
North was inspired by the beauty of the refraction of light underwater in her Crown Spa design, which is reflected in the aqua-hued treatment rooms. The spa includes male and female wet areas with aroma steamroom, Roman hot tub, sauna and private relaxation areas.
Crown Towers Perth is scheduled to open in December 2016. The hotel’s design team included Melbourne-based architects, interior designers and urban planners Bates Smart, who created the vision for the public spaces and created a rich, layered, luxurious design.
Interior architect Michael Fiebrich created 500 bedrooms, suites and villas, and employed an architectural approach to his interior design, with clean, tailored detailing.
North also designed the Crystal Club, which includes a private reception and concierge area, cocktail bar and outdoor terrace with views of the Swan River and Perth skyline.
A fitness centre offers generous workout space and the latest cardio and weights, as well as private training rooms, and a multi-tiered pool area, designed by Hassell Landscaping, includes the Enclave – a secluded poolside area with cabanas and a cocktail bar surrounding a circular infinity pool.
The Crown Perth complex, including Crown Towers, will have a total capacity to 1,200 bedrooms, making it the largest of its kind in the city.
Crown Hotels also operates the Crown Metropol in Melbourne and Perth, the Crown Promenade in Melbourne and Perth, and the Crown Towers in Melbourne, Macau and Manila.
