St Regis Dubai’s new Iridium Spa will be the wellness centre that time forgot
The Iridium Spa is set to open this month at the St. Regis Dubai, located in Al Habtoor City. To support a timeless theme, all clocks will be constantly set to 12:00 so to help guests forget their sense of time.
The 234-bedroom St. Regis is the first of three hotels scheduled to open in the multi-use development that stands on the site of one of Dubai’s oldest hotels, the Metropolitan.
Inspired by Beaux-Arts architecture from New York’s Gilded Age, the hotel’s interior boasts a grand staircase and a musical fountain.
The six-treatment-room Iridium Spa includes separate sections for male and female guests, each featuring dedicated wet areas with steam and sauna facilities, hot tub, experience showers, two hammams, and a relaxation area.
“The spa offers a seductive and modern approach to decadent luxury,” said Amanda Schmeige, director of spa and recreation.
Designed by Barr & Wray, Iridium Spa features elaborate chandeliers and bespoke tiling across all six treatment rooms and within the wet areas. As guests enter the spa, they are greeted by an Iris mural representative of the Iridium concept, which is taken from the Greek mythological Goddess Iris.
“This oasis in Dubai is a fresh approach to relaxation in a plush living room-style lounge area, giving it the exquisite feel of a personal residence,” said Schmeige.
Iridium Spa offers facials, massages, body treatments, detoxifying wraps, hammam and reflexology, “to ensure guests are guided on a transformative journey through a spectrum of moods during their relaxation experience,” said Schmiege.
The Iridium Bespoke Massage allows guests to select their preferred massage style, choosing from Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, Balinese and pre-natal for their favoured length of time. Each massage concludes with an individualised tea ritual.
The spa is using British beauty brand Carol Joy, skincare brand Swiss Perfection Cellular Skincare and organic Australian brand Sodashi. Products from Soleil Toujours are available from Iridium Spa Retail.
“We are extremely excited to unveil Iridium Spa at The St. Regis Dubai," added Schmiege. "Our seductive spa will live up to the legacy of the brand, not only in its design but also in our signature treatments and exclusive product offerings.”
