London's Forty Hall to reopen after major refurbishment

The London Borough of Enfield will relaunch the historic Forty Hall and Estate on 30 June, following the completion of an extensive multi-million pound revamp.
More than £4m has been invested by the local authority in transforming the 17th century property, while a further £2m has been provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
PLB, the North Yorkshire-based heritage and design consultancy, has been responsible for the development of a new identity for Forty Hall and Estate.
The company has also worked on the detailed design and implementation of the new permanent exhibition at the property, which incorporates audio and visual technology.
Forty Hall first opened in 1632 and its rooms have been returned to their original Jacobean design, with interiors fully restored. Accessibility has also been enhanced with the addition of a new lift.
PLB projects director Sarah Oswald said: "Our design has taken influences from the Hall's architecture and from its creator, Lord Mayor of London Sir Nicholas Rainton's passion for haberdashery.
"The exhibition element of the reinvention of Forty Hall uses a range of visual and audio interpretation and displays which will connect with audiences of all ages."
