Bright White wins Bannockburn project
York-based exhibition design company Bright White has been chosen to design and create the £5m visitor experience at the historic Battle of Bannockburn site in Scotland.
The centre, which is due to open in time for the 700th anniversary of the battle in 2014, is being developed in partnership between Historic Scotland and the National Trust.
Chris Walker, managing director of Bright White, told Attractions Management that the design of the visitor experience is currently a closely-guarded secret but added that it will be "like nothing seen or heard before" in the UK.
Bright White was awarded the £2m design contract following a tender process.
Launching the Bannockburn scheme earlier this year, culture minister Fiona Hyslop said: "This project will deliver a world class visitor attraction with a immersive digital experience that will give visitors a real flavour of the battle.
"We believe it will set new standards for Scotland's tourism industry, generate significant additional income for the local economy and increase visitor numbers."
