Venue design specialist Buro Happold acquires acoustics firm Vanguardia and its subsidiary Crowd Dynamics
The move will strengthen Buro Happold’s depth of expertise in acoustics and AV technology

The two companies have worked together on a number of projects over the past two decades

Buro Happold, has acquired acoustics and audio-visual consultancy Vanguardia Limited and its subsidiary Crowd Dynamics International.

The move will strengthen Buro Happold’s depth of expertise in acoustics and AV technology.

Specifically, the acquisition will enhance standalone and combined services of acoustics and sound engineering, environmental advisory services, plus a broad range of electro-acoustic and technology offerings.

It also provides Buro Happold with a fully integrated mobility consulting capability, encompassing inclusive design, waste and logistics, and crowd and traffic consulting.

The two companies have worked together on a number of projects over the past two decades, including the new 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, UK, the Silverstone Racetrack, Qatar Education City Stadium and The Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia.

James Bruce, Buro Happold's CEO, said: "Having worked alongside Vanguardia and Crowd Dynamics International for more than 20 years, it’s a natural step to formally bring them into the wider Buro Happold portfolio.

"We're enhancing our collective consultancy capabilities, creating significant opportunities for our clients.

“Our heritage of tackling global complex engineering challenges in the built environment puts us in the perfect position to advise and design exceptional solutions.

"This acquisition signals a period of rapid acceleration for our business and the industry as a whole."
