Luxury eco-spa resort Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda in Italy has reopened its doors to guests and unveiled the first phase of an extensive refurbishment.

The Lefay Group took full advantage of the last lockdown to completely renovate all of the resort's suites as well as the lobby, reception area, lounge, fireplace room and the exclusive lounge bar.

The second phase of the restyling project will include the expansion of the Lefay Spa with an adults-only area, scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

The resort’s current spa features a 3,800sq m wellness sanctuary, with six different types of saunas, five relaxation areas, indoor and outdoor saltwater pools and an indoor thalassotherapy pool.

It also offers health programmes through the Lefay Spa Scientific Committee, which blend classic Chinese medicine with Western scientific research.

In addition, the second update will include the refurbishment of the resort's two restaurants, the creation of three new suites and the introduction of a new events area.

"We’re proud to be able to announce the completion of this first phase of our restyling project during such an uncertain period, and it’s an important source of motivation and a sign of optimism for the months to come," commented Alcide Leali, CEO of Lefay Resorts & Residences.

"Despite the challenges that the tourism industry is experiencing due to the current health emergency, we’re continuing to pursue the path of an innovative and sustainable business culture by investing in the quality of our resorts and in the motivation and training of our human resources."

Following the first phase’s completion, the lobby area has been repainted in lighter tones with new furniture, fabrics, carpets and wall graphics, designed to maximise the iconic view over Lake Garda.

Suites have also been restyled with lighter shades and furnishings made from natural local materials with fabrics only made in Italy.

In addition, they have been equipped with new technology including Bose Bluetooth sound speakers and 49" and 55" 4K LED TVs with Google Chromecast.
