Studio DB design contemporary and tranquil condos for Brooklyn Heights
Studio DB have designed a boutique condo development currently under construction in the historic Brooklyn Heights area of New York that offers a contemporary and tranquil base for prospective residents.
Covering half a city block, The Symon contains 59 residences, including three penthouses, across 13 storeys.
The architects sought to deliver a modern and comfortable design while giving the building its own "bespoke identity".
From the outside, that is defined by a pre-war brick façade with arched windows and a canopied entry.
Inside, the apartments feature large solid panel doors, crown moulding accents and inlaid wooden flooring with basket-weave motifs.
Large divided-light windows allow plenty of natural light into the residences, oak flooring provides a sense of warmth and kitchens feature raised-panel cabinetry, marble countertops and high-end appliances.
Residents will have access to a "hotel-like private lounge" with contemporary and vintage décor that will feature a library, a large screen TV, a kitchen and a bar, as well as a gym with Peloton fitness equipment and a children’s playroom.
A landscaped rooftop terrace equipped with a grill, a dining area and lounge areas will provide a space for both relaxing quietly or more lively gatherings and will offer views of the surrounding district.
