Minor Hotels to unveil medi-wellness facility in Thailand in partnership with VLCC
– William Heinecke
Minor Hotels is realising its first location in collaboration with established India-based beauty and wellness brand VLCC, two years after the partnership was announced in 2019.
Founded in India in 1989, VLCC manages a chain of wellness centres across Asia, operates beauty and nutrition training academies, manufactures skincare, body care and haircare products, as well as a range of nutraceuticals.
The company operates locations in twelve countries with more than 310 locations across South Asia, South East Asia, the GCC Region, and East Africa.
The partnership’s first collaboration will be unveiled in January 2022 in the form of a VLCC Wellness – a therapeutic medi-wellness centre at the AvaniSpa within Minor’s existing 196-key beachfront property, Avani+ Hua Hin Resort, in Thailand.
After a year of lockdowns and restrictions, VLCC Wellness guests will be able to choose between a host of head-to-toe aesthetic or medical retreats during three to 21-night residential packages.
The programmes will combine traditional techniques with modern medical diagnostic treatments along with tailored exercise and nutrition regimens to deliver all-encompassing results.
Experienced practitioners, medical specialists, dermatologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, fitness trainers, Ayurveda specialists and cosmetologists will help cater to each guest’s needs.
Highlights include a three-night medical improvement and wellness enhancement programme, focusing on education and relief of symptoms linked to diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and the gut microbiome.
Addressing lifestyle-related medical and chronic health issues, the VLCC facility at AvaniSpa will also provide aesthetic treatments and IV therapy, in addition to classic spa and beauty treatments for body, skin and hair.
The AvaniSpa features nine treatment rooms, couples’ journeys and a signature rhassoul ritual.
Speaking about the facility, William Heinecke, founder and chair of Minor said: “Wellness is an integral element of any stay with Minor Hotels and the partnership with VLCC represents a strategic move to establish our position as leaders of exceptional wellness experiences.
“In VLCC we’ve found the perfect partner to build a transformational business offering at Avani+ Hua Hin and look forward to the future potential of this collaboration.”
Vandana Luthra, founder of VLCC, added: ‘The demand for transformative wellness travel is at an all-time high, and Thailand represents the ideal location for unrivalled hospitality, incredible locales and a holistic approach to wellness.
“As the wellness industry continues to boom worldwide, the potential to tap into this market is a key priority and we look forward to witnessing the success of this partnership.”
