Colorado hot springs resort celebrates bathing this November with “Soak-ember” and an international bathing event

– David Dronet
With 24 soaking pools terraced along the San Juan River, The Springs Resort & Spa in Colorado has proclaimed the entire month of November as “Soak-ember”, with the local Mayor, Don Volger, officially labelling November as “Hot Springs Month”.
Visitors and locals are being encouraged and invited to relax, reboot their immune systems and celebrate the age-old tradition of soaking at the resort, in nutrient-rich mineral waters sourced from the world’s deepest geothermal hot springs.
In addition, The Springs’ co-owner, David Dronet, is a member of the Global Wellness Institute’s Hot Springs Initiative and has spearheaded a Global Live Soak event on 13 November from 9pm - midnight, (MDT).
Live-streamed on Facebook and Soakember.com, the event will run simultaneously at hot springs in 10 countries around the world including: the Czech Republic, Japan, Switzerland, China, New Zealand, Australia and The Springs Resort in the U.S.
“Autumn is one of my favourite times in Pagosa Springs,” explained Dronet.
“This year we decided to make it extra special by not only asking the mayor to help us dedicate an entire month to honour centuries of soaking traditions, but to also spearhead a global soaking event with other hot springs around the world.
“The earth’s healing waters have been nurturing mankind through the ages and now more than ever, we need to come together, nationally and globally, to recharge our bodies and rejuvenate our spirits.“
In addition to the live event, there are special “Soak-ember” events being hosted throughout the month arranged for both resort and day guests, including:
– Soak and Stargaze – Maps of the stars will be handed out so guests can study the stars amid the steamy waters, while local astronomy buffs will lead weekly “star tours,” poolside.– Spa “Happiness Hour” – Bathing in hot springs helps to prepare the body to reap the most benefits from a spa treatment. Participants can enjoy 25 per cent off treatments in the resort’s spa from 3:00 to 5:00 pm daily
– The Soak-Ember Challenge – Guests are invited to check off each of the pools in their Personal Bathing Passport to enter a drawing to win a fluffy Springs Resort Robe and mineral-rich bath salts to take home to continue their healthy soak habit.
