The Well creates integrated wellness retreat in New England countryside for Auberge Resorts

The Well has struck its first-ever hospitality partnership and developed a holistic wellbeing retreat for Auberge Resort Collection’s Mayflower Inn & Spa resort, in Connecticut.

The opening will complete Mayflower Inn’s property-wide transformation including a redesign of the 35-room resort, led by interior designer Celerie Kembele.

The Well is a modern wellness brand known for its first location in New York which offers integrated holistic health solutions and access to doctors, health coaches and 50 practitioners working across a range of healing modalities.

The group’s new launch, The Well at Mayflower Inn, is an expansive 20,000sq ft countryside wellness escape and is scheduled to open on 8 December 2020.

The integrated holistic experience will feature a new biophilic thermal pool surrounded by over 400 plants, an infrared sauna, cryo-chamber, greenhouse-style pool, hammam with chromotherapy and aromatherapy.

Treatments offered will range from acupuncture and craniosacral therapy to energy healing and stretching, plus bespoke spa treatments developed by The Well – with a focus on the health of the lymphatic system to support immune health.

The Well has also revealed that the launch will kick off the introduction of its new SkinHealth programme, in partnership with skincare specialist, Biologique Recherche.

As an integrated retreat, innovative wellness products developed by The Well’s team of practitioners, which is led by chief medical officer and renowned functional medicine doctor, Frank Lipman, MD, will be used in services, offered in retail and integrated into the in-room experience.

The new retreat marks the second location for The Well and will offer every guest a Wellness Download from its digital platform, to build customised treatment plans and experiences based on guests’ unique concerns and goals.

The Well will also extend support beyond one’s stay, allowing guests to continue programmes, schedule visits with practitioners and participate in classes from anywhere through The Well online platform.

"We’re pioneering a new way to care for your health," said Kane Sarhan, co-founder and chief creative officer of The Well.

"Partnering with the Mayflower Inn is an exciting next step for us as we work together to innovate destination wellness. We want guests to feel fully transported and empower them to take greater agency over their health and also have support after they leave us to continue their wellness journey.”

An activity schedule has also been drawn up, including night-time forest bathing, dharma talks, a chef series and gong baths, completed with a host of one- to three-day wellness packages and seven- to fifteen-day retreats.

Additional amenities will include eight treatment rooms, a retail area, relaxation space, two steamrooms, fitness centre, outdoor meditation garden, outdoor pool, tennis court and hiking trails.
