Yabu Pushelberg and Gensler create Four Seasons hotel and private residences for Bengaluru

by Jane Kitchen | 20 May 2019

Design practice, Yabu Pushelberg and architect Gensler have created a new property for hotel operator Four Seasons in Bengaluru, India. The development was undertaken in collaboration with hospitality development group, Provenance Land.

Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy One includes a 230-bedroom hotel and 105 Four Seasons Private Residences, some of the first of their kind on the subcontinent.

The hotel is part of the Embassy One development at the heart of the financial district.

Developed by The Embassy Group, the 55-storey Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy ONE is the second property in India for the team, who also worked on the Four Seasons Private Residences Mumbai.

The hotel includes restaurants and an 11-treatment room spa, which is set on the lower level alongside a pool.

The property has a curated collection of paintings, prints and sculptures by more than 25 contemporary Indian artists.

Yabu Pushelberg have been working for Four Seasons since 2000. Partners George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg told CLAD “We’ve had a wonderful relationship with Four Seasons for a long time. They originally hired us, a young firm from Toronto, to create something different. I’m proud that we’re moving their style forwards with them.”

“It’s truly a milestone as we open our second hotel in India,” said Rainer Stampfer, Four Seasons’ president hotel operations - Asia Pacific.

“Together with our property in Mumbai, Four Seasons Bengaluru reflects the vibrancy and poise of modern India through design, experiences and personalised service to meet the needs of both travellers and local residents."
