Corinthia Palace Hotel to open Athenaeum Spa after €9m revamp

Hotei Russia propose to create glimmering promontory and museum on Maltese coast

Architecture firm Hotei Russia have offered to design a replacement for the Azure Window, a limestone formation which famously appeared in the Game of Thrones television series and collapsed in 2017. Malta’s first science centre, a €26m (US$28.7m, £23.5m) investment named Esplora, is fast approaching its official opening date of 28 October. A huge carnival float has been built in Malta as a rather unorthodox tribute to one of the world's most famous architects. Renzo Piano – the designer of The Shard, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the nearly-completed Stavros Niarchos Cultural Centre – was honoured at last week’s Maltese Carnival for his architectural contribution to country’s capital, Valletta.
