Weston Williamson + Partners victorious in design competition for Egypt's Science City

Architecture studio Weston Williamson + Partners have triumphed in an international design competition to create a Science City for Egypt. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina – a major library and cultural centre – organised the single phase, open contest to receive conceptual designs for a 125,000sq m (1.35m sq ft) complex designed to promote scientific knowledge to the public. Vincent Callebaut Architectures (VCA) has designed an eco-friendly and sustainable mixed-use scheme for Cairo, Egypt. Plans have been revealed by VCA, a French architecture and design firm, for a residential, office and leisure development for the Egyptian capital. A designer has been selected for the Cairo Expo City project. a new exhibition and hotel complex, being developed by the Government of Egypt.
