Former Wembley MD joins National Marine Aquarium as new CEO
Roger Maslin, former managing director of Wembley Stadium, has been appointed new CEO of Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium (NMA).
Maslin, who spent 17 years at Wembley, joining as finance director and the spending the last seven years as its MD, now takes over at the National Marine Aquarium, replacing the outgoing David Gibson, who resigned from his position in 2015 after five-and-a-half years at the helm.
Since his resignation, the aquarium’s senior team, overseen by the board of directors, has handled management of the aquarium.
"My time at Wembley made me appreciate the responsibilities of being branded 'national' and the importance of a clear vision to deliver a world-class experience based around best events, facilities and service,” said Rogers, commenting on his new role.
“Having visited the aquarium as a tourist, I know that it is an informative experience provided by staff who are clearly enthusiasts. I’m now looking forward to seeing if we can achieve something really special by combining my experience with the passion and talent of the NMA team. I look forward to working with the team here to make a significant difference in the world of marine conservation, research and education."
